Many events are now taking place at the Mill, both in the banquet room and in the Mill itself.

Some of those scheduled, which are open to the public are:

Friday,  December 8th (5:00 PM to 8:00 PM) and Saturday, December 9th (1:00 PM to 5:00 PM - SAVE THE DATE !

The Shenandoah County Holiday Homes Tour moves to Edinburg this year. After an absence of 6 years nine homes and historic buildings, will be festively decorated for the event and open for visits on both Friday, December 8 (5 to 8 pm) and Saturday, December 9 (1 to 5 pm).

The event is sponsored by the Edinburg Heritage Foundation and Response with all proceeds going to the two organizations. The tour will originate at the Edinburg Mill and Museum both days where ticket-holders will receive a map, entrance tickets, a program booklet with history and photos of the homes, and refreshments, including a hot beverage and cookies. A tour of the Museum will be free for this event.

Several tour locations this year are on Center Street including the Edinburg Mayor’s home at 216 Center Street, Dan and Sue Harshman. 212 Center Street, Heather and Donny Holsinger; 213, Center Street, Dawn and Eric Estep; and 214 Center Street, Joan and Emery Reistetter, will also be open for tours. The Mill House, which housed the Mill manager and family, is located next to the Mill and is always beautifully decorated by Judy and Clyde Beachy. Robin Layman opens her home at 204 Piccadilly Street and Donna and Bill Smith will open their Renaissance Bed and Breakfast. Last year’s winner of the Edinburg Outdoor Decoration Contest, The Dr. Fred Downey House at 508 Stoney Creek Blvd., will be open by its current owners Karen and Byron Wightman. The tour sites are, as a rule, not handicapped-accessible.

There will be plenty of on-street parking and parking at the Mill. Shuttle buses will be provided by the Charter House School and will travel the entire circuit of homes. A map of the route will be available. The buses are not handicapped-accessible.

Tour tickets are $20, cash or checks, and will be available at various local businesses November 1 in Edinburg, Woodstock, Mount Jackson and New Market and can be purchased by credit card at the Edinburg Town Office and the Edinburg Mill. New Restaurant to Open

A new restaurant -- The Edinburg Mill Restaurant -- will be opening in January of 2018.  Chefs Jason Burns and Dennis Stickley will be running the new facility in the lower level of the building which has outside access from the courtyard inside the flood wall. It is handicapped accessible and there is ample parking. As soon as the menu and operating hours are established, they will be posted here.
